  • The Independent Sales Representative develops profitable new business and grows sales for existing assigned accounts.
  • these are primarily independent and smaller group customers (example - fewer than 5 stores).
  • Evaluate and understand competitor strengths, weaknesses, financials, technology, new initiatives, and limitations within their defined territory.
  • Sell new business concepts to clients.
  • confirm that new and existing accounts meet established business criteria.
  • Achieve or exceed sales, APSW, and gross margin budget.
  • review accounts receivables on a weekly basis and take appropriate action to keep customers within terms.
  • Review item selection versus industry/market/competition/season and make recommendations on item selection, plan-o-grams, and promotional planning or distribution guidelines.
  • This position has additional duties.
  • special projects may be assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
    • Bachelors degree.
    • 2+ years of sales and/or customer service experience.
    • 2+ years of McLane-specific experience.
    • Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
    • Valid drivers license and good driving record.
    • Able to travel as required.
    • 18+ years of age.
    • Candidates may be subject to a background check and drug screen, in accordance with applicable laws.
