Job Description:

- Perform plant C&M functions, sub-system and systems
design.
- Perform cost-benefit optioneering or trade-off studies for
technical risk, function, performance, margin, and cost
optimization.
- Use variety of modern software based tools for; requirements
[DOORS], design [Visio],analysis [Matlab], change, configuration,
and document management
- Identify, confirm, document, and lead resolution of technical
issues.
- Provide technical oversight throughout entire design process
into release to manufacturing or supplier, fabrication, assembly,
production test, validation, integrated system validation test as
well as site installation and test.
- Establish and maintain close, responsive, productive and
quality working relationships within and between team members,
engineering, support functions, business project management and
customers' engineers and plant staff to successfully drive project
completion and resolve emergent issues.
- Prepare technical bid proposals and change orders.
- Prepare learning sessions for knowledge capture and transfer -
Mentor less experienced engineers.
- Champion nuclear safety culture Ensure compliance with
policies, quality management system, and corrective action
program
- Deliver work products on-spec., on-budget, schedule with
integrity, safety and security, quality, and then on-time output
(ISQO) Perform with high Say-Do ratio.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Nuclear, Physics,
Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science or Technology, Electrical,
Software or Systems Engineering or equivalent 4 year technical
degree.
- 15 years of experience with solid skill and knowledge of
design, requisition, or field engineering related or similar to one
or a combination of BWR "core" control and monitoring.

process control using applicable techniques [e.g.;

- 10 years of experience with IEEE Std. 603, 7-4.3.2, 828, 829,
830, 1008, 1012, 1028, 1042, 1074, etc.
- 10 years of experience with excellent PCs as well as
productivity software [e.g.; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access,
Project, Visio].
- 5 years of knowledge, skill, or experience with application,
requisition, or field engineering on Digital control system (DCS)
Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) used in implementations
involving complex, real-time operating systems involving software
intensive instrumentation, data acquisition, control, monitoring,
automation, robotic, scientific experimental or technology
demonstrator systems in industries such as; nuclear, power,
process, marine, oil & gas, military, aerospace, medical, or
pharmaceutical.
Additional Desired Characteristics:
- Master of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or
Mathematics or equivalent 4 year technical degree.
- Professional Engineer Control Systems by National Council of
Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES).
- PMI/PMP certified or proven project management
experience.
- Senior Reactor Operator (SRO).
- Experience with various quality standards; NQA-1, AS9000,
ISO9000.
- Experience in DCS, or PLC application, deployment and support
engineering of complex, high reliability, harsh environment, real
time operating digital systems preferably microprocessor based
involving single point failure criterion, dual-triple-quad
redundancy, signal acquisition, data processing, inter-networking,
separation, human factors, safety hazards, reliability, simulation,
cyber security requirements, using modern platforms [e.g.; Client
Mark VIe/ControlST, Allen-Bradley, Westinghouse CommonQ, DeltaV,
Foxboro I/A, Triconex TRICON, Emerson Ovation, Siemens System7 or
TelepermXP].
- Experience in regulatory affairs and licensing processes in
general and NRC specifically such as 10 CFR 50/52, NUREGs, BTPs,
ISGs, SRMs, TMIs, and RG 1.53, 1.62, 1.75, 1.89, 1.97, 1.152,
1.153, 1.155, 1.168, 1.169, 1.170, 1.171, 1.172, 1.173, 1.180,
1.189, 1.209, and 5.71.
- Experience with IEEE Std. 603, 7-4.3.2, 828, 829, 830, 1008,
1012, 1028, 1042, and 1074.
- Experience with IEC Std. 60xxx, 61xxx and 62xxx
series.
- Experience with requirements management practices and tools
[e.g.; DOORS].
- Solid experience with systems and component design, analysis,
modeling, simulation, and test data collection tools [3KeyMaster,
Easy5, Simulink, GSE Simsuite, LabView, MathCad, Mathematica,
MatLab, MatrixX, ETAP].
- Experience performing independent, or preferably team based,
system design or technical reviews including interfacing with
Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) and quality
assurance (QA) organizations.
- Solid experience with functional, performance, margin and
qualification [environmental, seismic, embedded digital] testing
methods.
- Clear thinker, detail oriented, insightful, quantitative,
results oriented Able to learn quickly and make reasoned, sound,
and timely decisions.
- Exceptional technical writing in general with focus on
requirements and design documents.
- Strong verbal communication as well as facilitation and
presentation skills for technical and business audiences.
- Able and willing to take ownership and responsibility for
scoping, planning, prioritizing, scheduling, budgeting, action
tracking, monitoring, corrective actions, reporting, etc.
