Education:raduate of an accredited Surgical Technology Program

peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust
focus. Ability to hear to process instructions and safety code and
alarms required. The physical demands described here are

Position Summary: The Surgical Technologists (ST) are professionals
who assist in the preparation and care of surgical patients under
the general direction of a registered nurse. The ST possesses
expertise in the theory and application of sterile aseptic
technique and combines the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical
procedures, and implementation tools and technologies to facilitate
a surgeon's performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic
procedures. The ST establishes and maintains a sterile field and
assures team maintains sterile environment while demonstrating and
practicing sterile techniques. The ST will have a basic knowledge
of instrumentations, prepare Operating Room with appropriate
instrumentation, equipment and supplies, and will demonstrate
correct and safe instrumentation passing and performs sponge,
needle and instrument counts in a safe and accurate manner. The ST
performs functions as noted above and generally with an assigned
patient load, but ST is ready and willing to assist co-workers with
ANY nursing support function and across any case load including
other units that may not be the normal primary work assignment. The
ST must be willing to coordinate alternate housing within the
facility in advance of shifts when inclement weather potential
threatens the ability to get to the facility. The ST may be
required to report back to work during any emergency situation i.e.
mass casualty, internal disaster, etc. Position Summary: The
