What We're Searching for:

Maintenance Supervisor

As a Maintenance Supervisor you will oversee all the facility's maintenance functions, developing and implementing preventative and predictive maintenance and improvement programs. You are responsible for preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems; both mechanical and electrical. The Maintenance Supervisor recommends equipment improvements to improve availability, capability, and yield, and will need to prepare technical reports to document equipment modifications and write equipment maintenance procedures. You must display leadership as well as planning and project management skills. The possession of strong organizational skills is a necessary component to this position.

How You Will Contribute:

Responsible for regular care, preventive maintenance, and emergency maintenance in the following areas of Operations: Production Machines, Facilities Exterior, Building and Grounds Interior, HVAC, Plumbing, Electric, Fixtures, Vehicles Trucks, Forklifts, Housekeeping Supplies, Trash Removal
Incorporates and maintains safety observances, including but not limited to, use of all PPE by employees, ensuring guards and safety features are working, and promoting good safety practices and habits
Maintain an awareness of the proper functioning of equipment and fixtures in each area
Purchases parts, equipment, etc. and hires outside contractors; plumbers, electricians and other skilled trades as needed
Maintain a preventive maintenance calendar to direct proactive work in each area
Maintain a list of preferred sources for maintenance services and supplies
Maintain and use manuals and drawings for equipment and facilities
Support all areas and prioritize work so that Hood Container Corporation customers are not negatively impacted
Communicate any conflicts, resource shortages, ongoing problems, or significant expenditures with management
Perform housekeeping on a continuous basis to ensure a clean and safe workplace
Suggest/ Identify ways to improve cycle time, reduce errors or reduce cost of processing
Other duties as determined by Plant Manager

What it takes:
High School diploma; College and/or related technical courses a plus.
Computer/Data entry skills.
Demonstrated supervisory skills
Three plus years of maintenance experience in a Corrugated Converting production facility is preferred.
Five plus years' experience in industrial building or machinery maintenance including specific knowledge or experience in the following: power transmission, HVAC, electrical, PLC, carpentry, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electronics.
Ability to understand and diagnose the operation of simple machines such as the slitter, band saw, as well as complex machines such as the Flexo Folder Gluer and Rotary Die Cutter.
Physical demands include standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching while working in indoor or outdoor environments year-round.
Ability to clearly communicate with management, supervisors, machine operators, other employees and contractors as needed.
Attention to detail, and a high level of numerical accuracy.
Ability to focus on a single task in a busy environment with changing priorities.
Awareness of and adherence to good industrial safety practices and OSHA standards.
Ability to work safely in a hazardous environment with exposure to moving parts, noise, vibration, high/precarious places, fumes, chemicals, and electricity.
24 hr. on-call for any emergency maintenance situations
Willing to work extended shifts as required
