  • RTO after booking is not allowed and is not allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call offs or additional RTO on unit, could possibly turn into a cancel and DNR.
    • Job Requirements
    • Minimum Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience on the cardiac floor required. May screen if 1.5 year of CVICU experience in a large facility
    • Traveler Experience: Required UNLESS traveler has more than 24 months of cardiac experience.

    • Skills: Cardiac Telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, Sheath Removal, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Post MI, Pre/Post Cardiac Cath, Manage Cardiac drips- no titration, Titrate Cardiac drips, Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleuravac, External CPAP/BIPAP, Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management
    • MUST Pass EKG Testing prior to start for this specialty.

      • Ratios: Varies per Acuity. Ratios are 1:4 for surgical step down, and 1:5-6 for lower acuity
      • Shift: DAYS 36 or 48 hours. If 48 then OT billed until after 48. Unit will accept contracts from 13 weeks+ up to March 15, 2025 (hard stop) to get the unit through the holidays!
      • Float Requirement: Will follow unit rotation - not first to float
      • Weekend Requirement: 4 per 4 weeks (flexible)
      • SCHEDULING TYPE: Self
      • UNIT ORIENTATION: 24 hours

        • Ratios: Varies per Acuity. Ratios are 1:4 for surgical step down, and 1:5-6 for lower acuity
        • PATIENT DIAGNOSES: Atrial Fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, Aortic stenosis/regurgitation, Mitral Regurgitation/Stenosis, Endocarditis, Cardiomyopathy, PVD PAD, Vasculitis, Carotid stenosis, Venous stasis, sheath management, sheath removal.
        • SPECIAL PROCEDURES/UNIT DETAILS: CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, Mitral Clip, LAAO (Watchman procedure), VATS, Carotid endarterectomy, FEM-POP bypass, Amputations, Other vascular surgeries, Cardiac surgeries, Thoracic surgeries, General thoracic surgery, Post cath, Post DCCV, Post electrophysiology procedures, Pacemaker placements.
        • SPECIAL EQUIPMENT: Arterial lines (not required), Doppler, Bladder scanner, EKG, Femoral sheaths, TR band, Fem-stop, Chest tubes, Epicardial Pacing Wires.
        • UNIT SYSTEMS (Medication, Documentation, Communication): Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR

          • Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team. Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty or disaster.
