increase in customer demand, CommScope is hiring Manufacturing
Operators in Catawba, NC!How you'll help us connect the
world:Perform physical manipulation or movement of product or
materials, machine operations, forklift operation or other jobs as
deemed vital by business demands. Employees of the Manufacturing
Operator group may perform as a Braider Operator, a Swaging Helper,
a Fiber QC Tester, or a Jacket Helper. Processes may include
assisting in setting up extruder to include setting heat controls,
selecting accurate extrusion tools, cooling devices and using the
compound and wire supply specified. Assisting with setting up and
operating all required support equipment. Unload and accurately
identify and store finished reels. Assist other operators in
start-up, shut-down and change over procedure. The operator is
required to roll and position reels of wire. Positioning requires
pushing and pivoting the reels into place within a pay off machine,
which automatically locks the reel into place and positions it
vertically. The operator may be required to load 3-12 reels per
job, depending upon the particular type of cable being run. Once
all of the pay off machines are loaded the operator must manually
thread the wire through various eyelets and pulleys to the strander
where it is combined with other wire to be made into cable. This
requires fine motor and eye hand manipulation skills and reaching
vertically. During the take up portion of the job the operator
stands and removes a reel, after it is full of cable, and pushes it
into position so that a material handler can transport it to its
final destination. Operators also perform quality control checks on
wire supply and finished wire to include adhesion, air leaks,
correct size, eccentricity, and wall thickness. We want you to take
initiative when there is a problem by using your own skills and
troubleshooting. Fill out all reports supplying information to
needed areas on the product produced. Work closely with Research &
Development Engineering on developing new products and evaluating
new raw materials and with other teams on goal-oriented projects.
Perform general housekeeping duties around machine areas. Our other
departments will have different processes to follow. You will begin
training from day one.Required Qualifications for
Consideration:High School Diploma/GEDRead, understand, and follow
job instructionsAbility to work 12-hour shifts from 6:30 PM - 6:30
AM on a 4 days on / 4 day off schedule including weekendsYou will

Operator experiencePrior experience working in a manufacturing
environmentUnderstands quality metrics and tools to perform quality
