Job Description:

Position Summary: This position will report day to day operations to the Practice Supervisor and as well as Director of Imaging and will be responsible for performing accurate and timely patient registrations as well as teaming with additional individuals in the hospital to ensure patient throughput and quality customer service. Duties/Responsibilities include:Register in patients in applicable areasMaintain working knowledge of Insurances, insurance cards, and other healthcare benefit related mechanismsRun Patient Payment Estimation software to provide to applicable patientsSolicit and collect patient payments Schedule radiology patients for imaging Utilize education and expertise and knowledge of clinical aspects of the scheduling area to troubleshoot scheduling problemsCommunicate with team members including physicians, nursing, navigator, pharmacy and management to ensure accurate schedulingOrganize facility calendars and act as the liaison between medical professionals and patients while adhering to all HIPAA guidelines and regulationsRelay messages between medical professionals, management and other team members Provide accurate procedure instructions; educate ordering physician/office of accurate protocolsPromote customer service with all customers including physicians, other staff members, patients and family members to achieve positive outcomesExhibit exemplary core customer skills and values and completes other duties as assigned Other duties as assigned - Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee partner for this job. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice.QUALIFICATIONSEducation: High School Degree requiredAssociate Degree preferredExperience: Minimum of three (3) years front-office experience in a healthcare setting requiredPrevious experience in a healthcare setting preferredPrevious experience with Insurance Payer regulations preferred Medical terminology knowledge preferredHospital Operations or Physician Practice Operations preferredPatient clinical scheduling preferredKnowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to type 45 words per minute preferredCustomer service experience / call center experience preferredTime Management skills/ability to multi-task preferredAbility to quickly develop rapport with customer base including but not limited to physicians, coworkers and ancillary personnelPhysical Requirements: Light Physical Agility Test (PAT) RatingWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently (activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) required to stand, sit, and walk; frequently to use hands, fingers; and frequently to talk or hear. The employee must exert up to 15 pounds of force occasionally (activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time), and/or up to 5 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
