AssistedCare at Home has
immediate openings in our IDD program for clients in the Wilmington
Deliver support services while in
the home and/or in the community for the CAP Innovations individual
and family/caregiver under the supervision of a Qualified
Professional. Ensure quality care according to agency and
regulatory guidelines and procedures.
- Paraprofessional qualifications
as stated in 10 NCAC 27G .0104:
Paraprofessional within the
mh/dd/sas system of care means an individual who, with the
exception of staff providing respite services or personal care
services, has a GED or high school diploma; or no GED or high
school diploma, employed prior to November 1, 2001 to provide a
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
(CPR) / First Aid Skills: (Will be required prior to client care).
Demonstrated ability to perform emergency procedures to a person
who is cardiac arrest or who is suffering a sudden illness or
- 1 year of work experience
related to human development, personal care experience, and/or
experience providing support to the population being served (i.e.
May be exposed to extremes of heat
or cold in all weather conditions. Must drive in various weather
conditions on roads in varying degrees of repair. May be exposed to
infections and contagious diseases. Contact with patients under
wide variety of circumstances. May be exposed to patient elements.
Subject to varying and unpredictable situations. Handles emergency
or crisis situations. Position includes tasks that involve exposure
to blood, body fluids, and tissues.
Manual Dexterity: Sufficient to
reach/handle items and work with the fingers. Hand/eye coordination
sufficient to perform fine/gross motor tasks in patient
Physical Activity Level:
Walking, sitting, standing, bending, reaching, independently lift,
pull, carrying up to 60 pounds. Visual and hearing ability
sufficient to comprehend written/verbal communication. Ability to
drive a motor vehicle. Ability to deal effectively with
Lifting Requirements: Up to 60
lbs. Potential higher with assistive device.
Must maintain active and valid
licenses and/or certifications as required by the position
including but not limited to CPR certification and TB. Position
requires extensive travel to various client home sites and the
ability to drive safely within state and locally mandated
