We are seeking a dedicated HIM (Health Information Management) Field Coder to join our innovative team. In this role, you'll be responsible for accurate coding of diseases, injuries, treatments, and procedures using established coding systems. This position ensures our services meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency while facilitating proper billing and optimal reimbursement for our healthcare services. Review patient records and assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures Perform timely chart reviews and maintain detailed records of coding activities Work directly with healthcare professionals to verify information and clarify diagnoses when necessary Ensure compliance with national coding standards and regulations Participate in audits and coding reviews to ensure all documentation is accurate and precise Stay informed about updates in medical terminology and coding guidelines Assist in the training of new coders and other clinical staff on relevant coding updates and practices Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and other relevant coding systems Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Capable of working independently as well as part of a team Certified Professional Coder (CPC) by the AAPC Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) by AHIMA preferred
