Payroll and Benefits Specialist
Position Summary

The Payroll & Benefits Specialist is responsible for the execution of the payroll and benefits processes. The Specialist collaborates with HR and Finance to accurately process the organization's multi-state weekly payroll and tax reporting. The Specialist oversees benefits enrollment, reconciles monthly vendor invoices for accuracy, and ensures regulatory compliance of company sponsored plans.

Your Tasks

--- Accurately process multi-state weekly payroll for the company's five payroll entities
--- Ensure accuracy of payroll deductions, including garnishments and Union dues
--- Audit, research, and reconcile weekly payroll reports and discrepancies
--- Prepare and provide required payroll and benefits reports for financial reporting, audits, and other needs as necessary
--- Collaborate with payroll vendor, Paycom, to ensure compliant payroll tax reporting
--- Complete required year end payroll activities in preparation for W2, 1099, and 1095 approval and distribution
--- Responsible for new hire and annual benefits enrollment
--- Ensure employee benefits information is accurate and payroll deductions are reflected correctly in HRIS, Paycom
--- Partner with Total Rewards Director to ensure timely filing of government reporting including 5500, PCORI, and ACA
--- Review weekly FMLA reporting from 3rd party vendor, Absence Pro, to ensure compliance.
--- Communicate benefit continuation policy and premiums to employees on FMLA.
--- Reconcile monthly benefit invoices and submit to Finance for timely payment
--- Update employee 401k contributions from Vanguard into HRIS, Paycom
--- Partner with Total Rewards Director and CFO in completion of annual 401k audit
--- Collaborate with HRIS Analyst to maintain Payroll and Benefits modules of HRIS, Paycom
--- Assist employees and managers with payroll and benefits related inquires.

Your Profile

--- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred
--- Minimum of five years' experience processing payroll and administering company benefits required
--- CPP or CBP or related certification a plus
--- Comprehensive knowledge of payroll concepts and best practices
--- Thorough understanding of payroll tax reporting requirements including W2 and 1099
--- General understanding of Human Resource Information Systems; Paycom experience a plus
--- Demonstrated ability to create reports and analyze data
--- Comprehensive knowledge of administering group health & welfare plans
--- Thorough understanding of ACA, FMLA, COBRA, and ERISA compliance
--- SStrong problem-solving skills
--- Demonstrated organizational skills
--- Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines
--- Ability to manage confidential data professionally
--- Proficiency in MS Office; Advanced Proficiency in Excel
--- Familiarity with Union CBA requirements as it relates to payroll and benefits
