Job Description SummaryThe Coach/Front Line Leader will be responsible for frontline and / or shift management and defined work or projects with moderate complexity. In this role, you will follow an individual work plan, meet day-to-day objectives, and resolve issues through immediate action and both short and long-term planning. This is a 2nd shift role. Job DescriptionEssential ResponsibilitiesProvide manufacturing / technical escalation assistance and leadership to assigned work groupManage production employees and production schedule requirements to include timekeeping, overtime, time off and disciplineSupport and meet production schedules, drive productivity and quality initiatives, and manage the area within budget guidelines and controlsUtilize data analysis to improve safety, decrease quality defects, and increase productivityBe knowledgeable, communicate, and enforce handbook and other plant policiesInterface with internal and external customers, define priorities for shift and work group leveraging the appropriate MDI structure for that shift/cellActively participate in Environment, Health and Safety initiatives and corrective actionsActively participate on cross-functional teams and demonstrate necessary leadership and coaching skills to other team membersTake active role in coaching and growing their work group's Flow Leader skills, as well as empower Flow Leaders in their cell ownership (if applicable)Help train and develop skills of production employees; educate production employees on business strategy and metrics Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college (OR Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment OR 4 years of military experience)At least 3 years of coaching / supervisory / leadership experience Desired CharacteristicsPrevious experience in manufacturing, quality, sourcing or operations, management experienceAbility to work effectively on a team and serve as a positive change agentPrevious experience working in a CNC machine shopDemonstrated experience managing New Product Introduction (NPI) in a fast paced production environmentStrong analytical skills and willingness to learn and work as technical expertAbility to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize aggressive deadlinesSix Sigma training / Lean (GE employees only)Demonstrated oral and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal and leadership skillsDemonstrated experience with effective coaching and/or creating growth opportunities for individuals This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology.
