ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Wilmington, North Carolina. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 04/13/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 48 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - Med Surg Job Details: • Work 12-hour night shifts with 36 or 48 hours per week accepted • 13-26 week assignment duration • Patient ratios of 1:6-7 (must be comfortable with these ratios) • Every other weekend requirement • Float to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients holding • Must be assigned to Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team during catastrophic events • Required certifications: BLS • Preferred certifications: ACLS • Must pass EKG testing prior to start • 2 years of experience required in last 5 years • Epic documentation experience required • Must be able to manage heparin drips, PCA, colostomy care, feeding tube care, blood product administration • Central line care/management, peripheral line care/management, phlebotomy, PICC line management • IV starts, management of dysrhythmias, O2 protocol management, non-invasive airway management • Traumatic brain injury care, ortho trauma, surgical drains, chest tubes, tracheostomy management • Wound care and isolation precautions/PPE protocols • Navy scrubs required • 12-hour unit orientation plus 16-hour organizational education • Care for patients with severe bone/joint injuries, traumatic brain injuries, spine injuries, subdural hematoma • Use of Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR systems • Fatigue policy: Cannot work more than 5 days in a row or 60 hours per week • Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually Facility: This major regional medical center serves as a comprehensive healthcare facility providing advanced medical and surgical services to the community.
