find a qualified Med/Surg / Tele RN in Wilmington, North Carolina,
28401! Job Opportunity – Emergency Department Holding / Float Pool
RN – North Carolina Start Date: March 23, 2026 Location:
Wilmington, North Carolina Compensation: Details provided to
qualified applicants Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week,
13-week contract available. Every other weekend required. 12-hour
orientation provided. Highlights: ED Holding support position
located within the Float Pool, caring for patients awaiting
inpatient bed placement Patient ratios: 1:7 for
Medical/Surgical/Telemetry patients or 1:4 for Progressive Care
Unit level patients Epic charting system with Pyxis medication
management and SBAR communication protocols Exposure to diverse
adult medical/surgical diagnoses in a fast-paced, high-acuity
environment Flexibility to float to Emergency Department and
Medical/Surgical areas as needed based on census and skill set Navy
scrubs provided; manager-created scheduling Requirements: Minimum 2
years of recent acute care nursing experience Active North Carolina
or Compact State RN license (required by start date) Current BLS
and ACLS certifications required NIHSS certification required; CPI
preferred Must pass EKG testing prior to assignment start Required
core skills: Medical/Surgical and Telemetry experience, dysrhythmia
interpretation and management, blood product administration,
peripheral and PICC line management, isolation precautions, feeding
tube care, renal failure management, heparin and insulin protocols,
chest tube care, BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, ABG
interpretation, tracheostomy management Preferred skills: IV
insulin protocols, pre/post hemodialysis management, port access,
central line blood draws, IV starts, CVA care, pre/post
neurosurgery, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injury,
orthopedic trauma, total joint replacements, wound care/wound vac
Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only) Completion
of 8-10 hours of online modules pre-start (non-billable)
Willingness to serve on Storm/Hurricane Team during catastrophic
