Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Wound Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 02/02/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Opportunity Position Registered Nurse - Wound Care Unit Wound and Ostomy Services Location City, State Shift Details Day Shift: 5x8 Hours (08:00 - 17:00) Full-Time: 40 hours per week Duration: 13 Weeks Travel Experience No travel experience required. First-time travelers are welcome. Qualifications Years of Experience: Minimum 5 years required. Previous Charge Experience: Preferred. Charting System: Experience with Epic required. Certifications: BLS (Required) WCC or WOCN (Required) ACLS (Preferred) Essential Skills Wound Treatments/Dressings: Alginates Autolytic debriding agents Enzymatic Debriding Agents Foams Hydrocolloids Mechanical and Sharp debridement Silver Products Vacuum Assisted Closure Wet to damp dressing change Wound Vac Therapy Symptom Management: Alteration in skin and mucous membranes Altered mental status Constipation/diarrhea Depression/Anxiety Fatigue/lethargy/weakness Pain Management Stomatitis Risk Assessment Tools: Braden scale assessment Prevention risk assessment tools (Adult and Pediatrics) Assessment and Management: Neuropathic ulcer assessment and management Peripheral arterial ulcer assessment and management Pressure ulcer assessment and management with staging (Stages I-IV) Venous status ulcer assessment and management Work Environment Hospital setting with a focus on Pediatrics Special procedures include management of wound vacs and conservative debridement Patient Demographics Neonates Infants Children/Adolescents Adults Elderly (Geriatrics) Unit Orientation Orientation duration varies based on wound and ostomy experience as well as familiarity with the Epic system.
