This is an excellent opportunity for experienced RNs seeking travel nursing jobs in North Carolina with a focus on cardiac care and telemetry./n /n/nCardiac Stepdown RN Job Details/n /n - Location: Wilmington, NC (zip 28401) – North Carolina nursing jobs/n - Healthcare Setting: Cardiac Stepdown / Telemetry Unit/n - Contract Type: Travel RN contract/n - Start Date: December 29, 2025/n - End Date: March 30, 2026/n - Duration: 13 weeks (option to extend)/n - Shift: 12-hour nights (18:45 - 07:15), 36 hours per week/n - Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4 weeks (flexible)/n - Unit Orientation: 24 hours/n - Scrubs: Navy/n - Estimated Weekly Salary: $1700-$1750/n /n/nRegistered Nurse Qualifications/n /n - Minimum 2 years of recent cardiac stepdown or telemetry nursing experience/n - Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state (required at time of start)/n - BLS & ACLS certifications (required)/n - NIHSS certification (required)/n - Epic charting experience preferred/n - Must pass EKG testing prior to start/n - Ability to float within hospital or to affiliate hospitals as needed/n - Proficient in cardiac telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, sheath removal, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, post-MI care, pre/post cardiac cath, cardiac drip management (including titration), chest tube management, and non-invasive airway management/n - Preferred: Arterial line management, wound care/wound vac, and charge nurse experience/n /n/nCardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities/n /n - Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with cardiac conditions (atrial fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, valve disorders, endocarditis, cardiomyopathy, and more)/n - Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, manage cardiac drips, and perform sheath removal/n - Care for patients post-cardiac and vascular surgeries (CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, Mitral Clip, Watchman procedure, VATS, carotid endarterectomy, FEM-POP bypass, amputations, pacemaker placements, etc.)/n - Utilize specialized equipment: Doppler, bladder scanner, EKG, femoral sheaths, TR band, chest tubes, epicardial pacing wires/n - Document and communicate patient care using EPIC and SBAR systems/n - Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services)/n - Participate in storm/hurricane team response as needed during contract/n - Float to other nursing units based on skill set and census requirements/n /n/n /n Experience top travel nursing opportunities and make a difference in cardiac patient care in Wilmington, NC.
