qualified PCU RN in Wilmington, North Carolina, 28401! Pay
Information $1,986 per week About The Position Job Title:
Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiac Telemetry
Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (06:45 -
19:15) Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience on the cardiac
floor required. Traveler Experience required unless the traveler
has more than 24 months of cardiac experience. License: NC or
Compact license required in hand at time of start. Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Minimum 2 years of experience on the
cardiac floor required. Traveler Experience required unless
traveler has more than 24 months of cardiac experience. BLS and
ACLS certification required. NIHSS certification preferred.
Comfortable floating within the hospital. Description: RTO after
booking is not allowed. Call-offs or additional RTO may result in a
cancellation and DNR. Ratios vary per acuity, with 1:4 for surgical
step down and 1:5 - 6 for lower acuity. Candidates must be
available for a total of 36 hours per week. Weekend requirements
are flexible, with four shifts every four weeks. Contract staff may
be assigned to teams during catastrophic events, mass casualties,
or disasters. Candidates must be comfortable with floating and have
no restrictions or special requests regarding floating. Patient
diagnoses include atrial fibrillation, congestive heart failure
(CHF), acute coronary syndrome (ACS), coronary artery disease
(CAD), and various cardiac conditions. Special procedures performed
in this specialty include CABG, AVR, TAVR, and pacemaker
placements. Required skills include cardiac telemetry, management
of dysrhythmias, sheath removal, and post cardiac catheterization
care. Equipment used in the unit includes EKG machines, chest
tubes, and arterial lines. Documentation and medication systems
include electronic platforms for ease of access. The daily census
is approximately 41 patients, with a total of 44 available beds.
Interdisciplinary support is provided by various healthcare
professionals, including physical therapy and respiratory services.
Skills in arterial line management and wound care are preferred,
but not mandatory. Travel partners are allowed but must work in
different units. Confirmation of references is required before the
