Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiac Tele Duration: 13 to 26 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted License: Current NC or Compact license required at the time of start Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Telemetry and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience - Interpretation of dysrhythmias and remote monitoring skills - Pre/Post Cardiac Cath and Pre/Post Cardiac Surgery experience - Sheath removal experience - Accessing ports and blood product administration - Central line/care management and PICC line management - Cardiac drip titration skills (Diltiazem and Amiodarone) - Post cardiac cath experience Description: RTO after booking is not allowed. Any call-offs or additional time off on the unit may result in cancellation. Floating is required as needed with the potential to float every shift. Patient diagnoses include Congestive Heart Failure and Arrhythmias. The unit monitors cardiac patients on various drips, including Dobutamine, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Milrinone, and Dopamine. Sheath pulls and TR Band procedures are performed on the unit. Staffing ratios are 1:6-7 during night shifts. Weekends require 5-6 shifts, equating to every other weekend. Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays, with no time off allowed during the first week of the assignment. Candidates will float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed. Travel pairs are allowed but must work on different units. Successful candidates must pass EKG testing prior to the start for this specialty. References from supervisors within the past 12 months are highly preferred. Candidates must be comfortable floating based on the job description with no restrictions or special requests. Modules are required to be completed before starting the assignment.
