  • Charge nurse experience and Level 1 Trauma, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, Telemetry - remote monitoring, IV insulin protocols, Titration of Insulin drips, Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management, Renal failure, Spinal cord injury, Traumatic Brain injury, Ortho trauma, Tracheostomy Management preferred

Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty or disaster. Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid contract may occur and the contract staff may be preassigned to units as neededPATIENT DIAGNOSES: Wide range of patient diagnoses that have had or plan to have surgery or involved in a trauma: Cellulitis, Appendicitis, Cholecystitis, Diverticulitis, Motor Vehicle Accidents, Gun Shots, Stabbings, Falls, Various Cancers, Kidney Stones, Bowel Obstruction, Peripheral Vascular Disease, Limb Ischemia, Hernia, GangreneSPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS: Wide range of any inpatient surgical procedure, as well as trauma: Cholecystectomy, Appendectomy, Hernia Repair, TURP, Ostomy Creation or Closure, Wound Debridement, Tumor Removal, Kidney Stone Removal, Amputations, Fem Pop BypassSPECIAL EQUIPMENT: Wound Vacs, Chest Tubes, NG tube/Corpak, JP Drains, Hemovac Drains, Penrose DrainsUNIT SYSTEMS (Medication, Documentation, Communication): Pyxis, EPIC, SBARSCHEDULING TYPE: Schedule as needed as neededUNIT ORIENTATION: 2 Days of hospital orientation, 24 hours of floor trainingSCRUBS: All Navy or Navy on bottom/White Top*** INTERNAL NOTES ****MUST Pass EKG Testing prior to start for this specialty.*Combination acuity unit: Adult medical surgical and surgical stepdown.Unit: 106-13-(2S) Inpatient Surgery Unit - RN
