Job Description:Lighthouse Behavioral Health Hospital is seeking a
motivated Charge Nurse with excellent leadership and communication
skills with a passion for helping those struggling with Mental and
Behavioral issues. . As a successful candidate, you will provide
assistance and care for patients, Lead nursing staff, offer
guidance and support, maintain a clean and safe working
environment, and ensure that all operational tasks are completed
efficiently and on time.To excel in this role, you will need to be
a Licensed Nursing Professional (RN)with at least 3 years of
experience in a healthcare environment, mental health care a plus.
You should enjoy working with people, have excellent organizational
skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
Qualifications
Responsibilities:
- Record patients' medical records and monitor vital signs.
- Supervising nursing staff and monitoring their needs.
- Coordinating daily administrating duties, including schedules,
nursing assignment, and patient care.
- Overseeing patient admissions on unit, transfers, and
discharges.
- Monitoring and training new staff and providing support and
guidance to all staff members including C N As and MHTs.
- Monitoring medical charts and providing compassionate care and
assistance to patients and family members via phone calls.
- Communicates unit rules and policies clearly to patient's and
patient's family.
- Liaising with doctors and administrators and communicating any
protocol changes to staff.
- Ensuring compliance with all health and safety
regulations.
- Recording and maintaining accurate reports.
- Identifying issues or emergencies codes and responding in a
calm, professional and efficient manner.Regulatory
Requirements:
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse to work in South Carolina.
- Prior experience in a Psychiatric Health Care facility
preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational
skills.
- Compassionate with sound judgement and problem-solving
skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and medical software
system.
- Ability to handle stress and work shifts.
- Basic knowledge of, and skills in applying principles of,
abnormal psychology and mental health problems.
- Familiarity with psychological, sociological and medical
terminologies.
- Persuasive skills with prospective patients and family members
who demonstrate denial or resistance to treatment, within context
of appropriate clinical interventions.
