Emerald Health Services is hiring a Travel RN - Medical Surgical
6S 48'sShift: Days / 6:45a-7:15p, 12x4, 48hrs/week, will also
consider 36hrs, call requiredLength: 13 WeeksRequirements:1 year of
experienceNC LicenseBLS, CPIUnit Accepts 1st time TravelerShift
days 36 or 48 hours can be offered: if the traveler signs for 48
then no OT until after 48.***Must pass EKG Testing prior to start
for this specialty***Call Required: If called off on pre scheduled
work shift. Floating required to similar units and alternate care
locations with inpatients holding. *EVERY OTHER WEEKEND REQUIRED.
Traveler will be assigned to a Inclement Weather Team *Traveler
will be assigned to every other weekend and must be able to work
holidays. **Contract staff may be required to care for patients
with COVID. Must attend staff meetings.Chemotherapy administration
certification is required!Like units includes floating to inpatient
holding in the ED, or any alternate medical patient care
location.Shifts called out will need to have make up shifts
rescheduled.During times of increased census, typical ratios may be
higher. Contract staff will be assigned equally to the home unit
staff to ensure that patients are covered with a registered
nurseAttendance to monthly staff meetings.Preferred: Administer
Chemo, Charge Nurse Experience, BCLS, CPI.Minimum Experience
Required: 1 YEAR.Unit Accepts 1st time Traveler: YES.Orientation:
24 hrs (2 shifts)Scrubs: Navy Blue.Unit Info: Daily Census 42.
Target Ratios: 1:6-7. High Acuity Adults and Geriatrics. PYXIS,
EPIC, SBAR. General medical-surgical diagnosis primary patient
population. Administration of chemotherapy/biotherapy -IV, PO, or
injection. DKA - Insulin drip, AKI, Sepsis, Cancer, Septic shock,
Pain, OD, Malignant Neoplasms, ARF, Encephalopathy, FTT, Diabetic
foot ulcers, Heparin drips. During times of increased census,
typical ratios may be higher. Contract staff will be assigned
equally to the home unit staff to ensure that patients are covered
with a registered nurse. Contract staff will be assigned and
expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team. Contract staff
may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass
casualty, or disaster. Consolidation to the Centralized Office
mid-contract may occur and the contract staff. Contract staff may
