Marvel Medical Staffing Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Wilmington, North Carolina.Job Description & Requirements

  • Employment Type: Travel36 or 48 hours: no OT until after 48. Will accept 13-26 weeks. Floating required: Travelers float to greatest need. May be assigned to Covid area. Weekends: every other weekend.Ratios: 1:2. Will be able to take up to a 3 patient assignment. Beds: 16. This unit may have RN's with a 1:3 assignment from time to time. Required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, ICP, Telemetry, Vents. Minimum 2 years of experience required. Preferred: CCRN, TNCC, conscious sedation, level 1 trauma experience, and/or Neuro. Patients in this unit are multi-system trauma and may have a neuro component. Massive Transfusions occur in this unit. There are EVD's on a routine basis and this skill is a must. Trach/PEG procedures are done at bedside W/ RN assisting with medications and monitoring. Flaps are done by the Oral Maxofacillary team and come to the unit post-op. IR patients come to unit post intervention. Patients may have continuous EEG monitoring. ICP's uncontrolled may require a pentobarbital coma. Organ donor patients (BD/DCD).Patient Diagnoses: ICH/SAH, S/P Fall, Cerebral Aneurysm, PVD, Respiratory Failure, S/P MVC, S/P GSW, S/P surgery of any type except open heart or/transplant.Special Equipment: Flo-trak, EKOS, Camino, Artic Sun, Phillips Monitors, Baxter IV pumps, Hill-Rom Self-driving beds, PrismaFlex.Unit uses: Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR, Voalte phones, PerfectServe. Unit does not accept 1st time travelers, but have on occasion (On occasion we have accepted them. It depends on type of unit they worked in and whether or not they have used our equipment in other places and documentation system.) Orientation: 2 shifts on unit. Scrubs: Navy. Time off requests are reviewed on a case by case basis. Scheduling: done by manager.
