, Onsite Analyst - Scientific Lab in Wilmington, NC28402 Must be
US Citizen or Green Card Holder with no visa sponsorship required.
No visa sponsorship or c2c candidates need apply as that is not
allowed. MUST ALREADY LIVE IN THE US TO BE CONSIDERED Onsite in
Wilmington, NC 28402 18 month assignment 7AM - 3PM M-F, Potential
OT Work MUST BE done onsite. Worker should be LOCAL. The Lab
Analyst is responsible for carrying out testing and analytical
functions including reagent preparation, sample analyses,
instrument calibration and troubleshooting, result calculations,
data management, and operation of instrumentation. These activities
are performed within a laboratory that operates in support of a
nuclear fuel production facility. This position involves the
analysis of uranium and other materials used in fuel production.
This position involves working as part of a 3-person team providing
continuous laboratory coverage 24/5. This schedule may require some
weekend and holiday work. No relocation reimbursement will be
provided. Essential Responsibilities: 1. The Lab Analyst must
certify for each assigned job function and will be responsible for
routinely performing analyses in any or all the specific areas
identified below: ---Mass Spectrometric Analyses - Determine the
isotopic contents of nuclear materials, and the elements in various
materials and samples using inductively coupled plasma mass
spectrometry (ICPMS). ---Wet Chemistry Analyses - Determine the
chemical composition and impurities in nuclear materials and other
samples using Wet Chemistry methods (titrimetric, gravimetric,
colorimetric, chromatographic, etc.) ---Environmental Analyses -
Perform a variety of analyses to assure compliance with regulatory
standards regarding employee safety and environmental protection.
2. The Lab Analyst must be able to perform routine laboratory
duties within radioactive material controlled areas and pass a
Nuclear Safety Training Test. 3. The Lab Analyst must be able to
work with acids, bases, solvents, radioactive materials, and other
hazardous materials using appropriate personal protective equipment
and must demonstrate a clear understanding of Industrial Safety and
Nuclear Safety guidelines and safe practices. 4. The Lab Analyst
must be able to use precision laboratory techniques such as
pipetting, titrating, analytical weighing's, making quantitative
transfers, and preparing volumetric dilutions. 5. The Lab Analyst
must be able to operate the laboratory information management
system (LIMS) and the instrument control computers that are
routinely used for collection, analysis, storage, and retrieval of
data. 6. The Lab Analyst must be able to monitor lab equipment
performance and respond to out-of-control/alarm conditions, carry
out preventative maintenance activities, recognize equipment
malfunctions, and accomplish simple repairs or corrections on a
continuing basis. 7. The Lab Analyst must be able to perform
mathematical unit conversions, interpret and understand complex
instruction manuals, engineering drawings and schematics, and
interactive software programs. 8. The Lab Analyst must be able to
prepare reagents and working standards using appropriate laboratory
techniques and knowledge of proper reference material storage
requirements. 9. The Lab Analyst must demonstrate excellent verbal
and written communication skills as interaction with colleagues and
customers is an essential part of the job. 9. The Lab Analyst must

the job. 10. The Lab Analyst must demonstrate the ability to work
in a team environment. Requirements: 1. Bachelor's degree in
Chemistry or a physical science from an accredited college or
university. 2. Minimum of 18 months of work experience in a
commercial and/or military laboratory environment is required. 3.
Minimum of one (1) year of demonstrated experience with knowledge
in at least one (1) of the following specific areas: a. Inductively
coupled plasma (ICP) spectrometry b. Ion chromatography c. Liquid
or gas chromatography 4. Ability and willingness to work a variety
of shift arrangements with appropriate overtime as needed to
provide continuous lab coverage. 5. Ability and willingness to
intermittently lift and carry up to 45 lbs. individually. 6.
Ability to pass the applicable quality control vision (Ishihara)
test requirements. Additional Desired Characteristics 1.
Demonstrated experience with strong knowledge of standard
analytical laboratory methodology (titrimetry, gravimetry,
spectrophotometry, etc.) 2. Demonstrated ability to effectively
communicate technical information both verbally and in writing to
other employees. 3. Previous experience in the nuclear industry
and/or working with uranium 4. Previous experience in using a
computer based Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). 5.
Previous experience in electronic data transfer and/or digital
image analysis. 6. Previous experience in production support
