retailersPosition SummaryAs the Brewing Manager, you will be part
of the core team responsible for the launch of FedUp Foods 2nd
production facility in Wilmington, NC. This role is the department
leader of the brewing and flavoring team and will provide overall
leadership and direction for all brewing operations to achieve
continuously improved results in safety, quality, service, and cost
performance. Functional direct reports are the Brewing Supervisor,
Brewing Team, and Flavoring Team.-- As a member of the Management
team, this person will work with other Managers to develop and
achieve our brewery and company wide goals.--The ideal candidate is
an energetic, servant minded manager with a passion for building
systems from the ground up, the tenacity to see projects through to
completion, and a commitment to innovation with high standards of
quality and integrity.General Duties/ResponsibilitiesRecruits,
interviews, hires, and trains management-level staff in our
operations.--Oversees employee productivity, training, and
personal/career growth and development.Leads and manages teams by
providing constructive feedback to drive the planning and
orchestration of business objectives.Provides constructive and
timely performance evaluations.----Handles discipline and
termination of employees in accordance with federal, state, and
company policies.--Create and communicate a clear vision for the
future of the department to inspire and drive the brewing team to
achieve and surpass business goals and objectives (Safety, Quality,
Service, and Performance).--Engage the brewing team to maximize
brewery productivity and employee engagement.Develop strategies to
support growth in brewing capacity.--Take ownership of the brewing
departmental budget and staffing plan.Drives improvements through
continuous improvement initiatives in the departmentWork with site
leadership team and Engineering to define and manage the Capital
budget in support technology and capacity improvements in
brewing.Provides direction, development, evaluation, coaching and
leadership to the brewing/flavoring team.Manages time cards and
completes performance evaluation cycles for all of the
brewing/flavoring team.--Accountable for assuring department
compliance with EHS Policies and support the facility safety,
environmental and health programs.--Actively works to develop
strong relationships with external parties that supply and interact
with the brew/flavor team.--Ensure compliance with SQF, GMP, HACCP,
Organic Certification, and OSHA practices and with all federal,
state and local laws and company policies.Work collaboratively with
functional leaders to drive efficiencies across the
department.Continually assesses the performance and skills of the
brewery team, holds others accountable and supports
development.Build in redundancy to ensure backup for critical
positions.Serves as a coach, mentor, teacher and student.Develop
and ensure implementation of all standard operating procedures to
maintain consistency, quality and efficiency throughout the
production process.--Support development of and oversee a complete
maintenance program for all brewing equipment in the facility in
partnership with the maintenance team.--Responsible for monitoring
brewing capacity needs and plans resources accordingly.Works in
partnership with the procurement team to plan needed raw materials
to meet production needs.--Partners with the procurement team to
address raw material concerns as they occur.--Works in partnership
with the R and D team and the Foods Safety Team to launch new
formulas and products in accordance with the specification
sheets.--Works in partnership with Maintenance to maintain PM's on
critical equipment and plan major maintenance as needed.--Is
available during off shift hours and weekends as needed to handle
escalations from the brew team.--Participates in the production
planning process coordinating with the Packaging manager and
Production Planning team to organize resources to meet scheduling
needs.Participate in mock recallsParticipate in regular audits
(GMP, FDA, CCOF, SQF)Meet with contractors and suppliers as
needed.Recruiting and hiring as needed to backfill department
roles.Ensure all new brewing staff are thoroughly
trained.--Maintain Sensory program in partnership with lab testing
ferments and finished product as needed.Participate in strategic
and expansion planning as it applies to brewing.--Closely monitor
the fermentation process with the team and plan resources for tank
management as needed.--A willingness to perform other duties as
needed.Food Safety and Quality ResponsibilitiesFollow GMP policy
when in the production facility and encourage your team to do the
same.Understand our SQF policies relating to pest control,
visitors, allergen management, and cleaning and
sanitation.Demonstrate awareness of Management's Commitment to SQF
and work towards Food Safety and Quality and help the company meet
this commitment.If there is a problem that involves food quality
and safety, report to the Quality Assurance Manager so that the
CAPA (corrective action, preventative action) log may be filled
out, the situation be investigated, and resolved with the goal of
continuous improvement of food quality and safety.Required

commercial activities.Understanding of USDA/FDA regulations, as
well as HACCP, GMPs, SOPs, AIB, Organic, and Hazard Analysis.Strong
Financial acumen and proven project manager.Prepare and administer
department budgets.Experience with ERP systems.--Understands
complex software and automation processes in the
brewery.--Expertise in brewing systems, CIP systems, packaging
lines, clarification techniques with a centrifuge.Ability to
quickly and effectively troubleshoot both process related
issues.Likes autonomy, takes ownership, and is proactive in driving
the Brewing/Flavoring Team to deliver to stated goals.Building
effective teams, invests time to build a talented team in key
roles.Relationship builder with excellent written and verbal
communications skills.Results driven, is focused and driven to

ExperienceBachelor's Degree required - Mechanical Engineering, Food
Science or Brewing Science preferred, from an accredited
institution.Minimum 3-5 years progressive experience in a similar
role in a manufacturing environment in the food, beverage, or
brewing industry.--Work Environment/Physical RequirementsFrequently
required to sit or stand for long periods of time.Ability to bend,
squat, crawl, kneel, crouch and walk on uneven surfaces
regularly--Ability to work in hot, cold, and wet
environmentsOccasionally must be able to lift, push, or pull up to
