Reporting to a Correctional Housing Unit Manager II at a
multi-custody female correctional facility, this position is
responsible for assisting the Correctional Housing Unit Manager II
in the management and operation of an institutional housing unit.
Job responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited
to, the following:
- Implementing and monitoring the unit case management system
which entails providing individual counseling, participating in
group sessions, and maintaining reports relating to the offenders'
- Supervising staff and in the absence of the Correctional Unit
Manager II, assuming responsibility for the overall management of

North Carolina Correctional Institution for Women (NCCIW), in
Raleigh, is the state's primary correctional facility for women. It
houses the largest offender population in the state and serves as
the support facility for the state's other female prisons. The
campus-style facility sits on 30 acres of a 190-acre tract of state
land in southeast Raleigh. NCCIW houses offenders of all custody
levels and control statuses, including death row, maximum, close,
medium, minimum, safekeepers and youth. It provides the primary
