Summary
As a Project Manager, you will mentor and lead your assigned team. You will design, prepare and review plans, technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates related a variety of water / wastewater, linear, civil site, land development, and solid waste projects. You will develop project scope, fees for services, negotiation of contracts for agreements of engineering services, project budgeting, project scheduling, and client communication. You will be responsible for supervising the work of technical support staff and providing mentorship and training to them as needed. This role is a great fit for you if you are comfortable with design and being a technical lead, and want the opportunity to mentor junior staff and help manage a wide variety of projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Supervise the work of junior staff, offering mentorship and providing training as needed.
Review interim work products and submittals and provide needed feedback regarding accuracy, completeness, and value.
Prepare design computations and quantity estimates and develop probable construction cost estimates for projects within your team.
Prepare and modify reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, permits, and designs for a project.
Analyze reports, maps, drawings, tests, and aerial photographs on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design a project.
Use computer assisted engineering and design software (i.e. AutoCAD Civil 3D) to prepare engineering and design drawings and documents. Provide direction to CAD Operators to reduce designs to working drawings.
Work alongside the Shallotte Office Manager, other Project Managers, and other staff to develop and maintain client relationships, project budgets and schedules, and the technical and financial performance of your team's budget.
May attend client meetings, during and outside regular office hours to develop and maintain client relationships. These meetings can include public meetings, workshops, or retreats.
May visit construction sites as needed to monitor progress and handle other duties per the construction contract documents.

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
6+ years of total experience with municipal water / wastewater project design and civil site design.
North Carolina PE license or the ability to obtain license within 6 months.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Proficiency in commonly used software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Valid driver's license.
