for covering roofs of structures with materials such as metal,
shingles, slate, asphalt, aluminum, wood, and related materials.
May operate hand and power tools of all types.RequirementsTo
perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to
perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The lists below are

required.Minimum Qualifications
Education: High School/G.E.D
preferred but not requiredYears of Experience: 6 months - 1 year of
general construction experienceCertifications: None requiredDriver
License: Not required but it is a plusMust be self-motivated,
open-minded, and able to accept constructive criticismKnowledge,
Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of the basic safety techniques and procedures
- Attention to detail, ability to prioritize tasks, -and meet
deadlines according to instructions received
- Ability to organize, plan, and execute work assignments
- Ability to climb ladders, stairways, and scaffolding
- Interpersonal skills necessary to work on a team
- Ability to read and use tape measure, mark, or record
distances
- General basic knowledge of construction materials and tools
involved in the construction or repair of structures
- Ability to perform general physical activities in construction
areas
- Ability to identify problems and communicate them to his
foreman in order to accomplish work
- Ability to identify and resolves problems in a timely manner
according to instructions receivedEssential Functions
Clean up debris from the roof surface
and surrounding property.Assist with the installation of vapor
barriers and/or layers of insulation on the roof decks of
roofs.Cover exposed nail heads with roofing cement or caulking to
prevent water leakage and rust.Assist with the installation of
partially overlapping layers of material over roof insulation
surfaces.Assist with covering roofs and exterior walls of
structures with metal, slate, asphalt, aluminum, wood, gravel,
gypsum, and/or related materials, using brushes, knives, punches,
hammers, and other toolsOperating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or
Equipment -Repair cracks, defects, or damage, using proper
materialsApply adhesives, caulking, sealants, or coatingsMust be
able to meet the physical demands of the jobPhysical Demands
Requires standing up for long periods
of timeRequires climbing ladders, scaffolds, or polesRequires
considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body
in order to climb, lift, balance, walk, and handle
materialsRequires use of abdominal and lower back muscles to
support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time
without giving out or fatiguingRequires seeing details at close
rangeRequires repetitive movement, bending or twisting, kneeling,
